Pure flavours of lemon, limes and hints of exotic fruits. The focussed palate is tempered with lush mid-palate weight, and provides beautiful balance between the refreshing racy acidity and purity of fruit. This wine is vegan registered.
This Riesling has hallmark intense citrus notes and bright, refreshing acidity.
Our Seaview Vineyard, in the Awatere Valley, is exposed to some of the toughest growing conditions in Marlborough; high sunshine and wind, cool nights and low rainfall which produces a smaller, thicker skinned berry with intense fruit flavours.
This wine is a blend of two blocks from our Seaview vineyard. Block D2E, which was amongst the first established, is a relatively flat, sheltered site on predominantly loess soils. The other, Block L6E, is very close to the coast and has to battle against the strong, cold offshore winds and tough growing conditions.
Produced from naturally low cropping fruit with intense flavour and structure.
Post fermentation, the wine stayed on lees for a period of time and the barrels were stirred twice weekly to build structure and mouthfeel. The wine was then racked, stabilised and filtered prior to bottling.
Both blocks were hand harvested then whole bunches pressed with the free run juice being cold settled briefly. The settled juice was racked with some light lees to old French barriques for fermentation.
Enjoy as an aperitif, also matches well with oysters, prawn or crab.

Our Single Vineyard Riesling can be enjoyed as an aperitif but is also wonderful with oysters and all other types of shellfish.
